Miland Castle Indoor Playground with an area of 1,000m² in Manila

When Mr. Balbuena explored Miland’s catalog, the “Miland Castle” concept immediately stood out. To match Manila’s hot, humid weather and frequent rainy-season traffic peaks, Miland (our company) delivered a comfortable, all-weather family destination. The Miland Castle is an indoor park to keep children active and parents relaxed, regardless of the climate outside. And finally, the 1000 m² Miland Castle in Manila was very popular.

While the project anchors itself in a “castle” identity, it elevates the on-site experience with a whimsical, storybook aesthetic. A bold, photo-friendly entrance welcomes guests, featuring an arched “WELCOME” sign, theatrical lighting, and oversized decorative props. Inside, striking 3D elements enrich the space—such as a giant illuminated clock-like centerpiece, candy-colored domes, and dramatic petal-shaped ceiling canopies that create a landmark look from every angle. These high-recognition visuals naturally boost social sharing and repeat visitation.

The team planned the 1,000m² layout with clear sight lines and smooth circulation to support peak-hour operation and mixed-age play.

• Main Soft Play Castle: a multi-level maze combining slides, tunnels, climbing features, interactive obstacles, and a ball pool.
• Adventure Add-ons: a light-intensity ninja course and a compact challenge circuit to extend dwell time while keeping fatigue manageable.
• Toddler Area (0–3): low-height soft modules, mini slide, sensory panels, and enhanced safety flooring for early learners.
• Party & Events Rooms: themed rooms for birthdays and school groups, with a central “ceremony corner” designed for cake moments and photos.
• Parent Lounge: comfortable seating, charging points, and direct visibility into key play zones.

Challenge 1: Manila’s heat, humidity, and rainy-season surges.

Miland supported a climate-ready strategy from day one—recommending appropriate A/C capacity, dehumidification targets, and airflow planning to reduce odor, prevent “dead corners,” and improve comfort. Meanwhile, operational guidance included cleaning and ventilation schedules to protect equipment life under high humidity.

Challenge 2: Rich theming vs. long-term durability.

To achieve bold 3D castle storytelling while remaining maintenance-friendly, Miland used FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) for decorative facades such as gates, arches, sculpted panels, and signature landmarks. FRP provides stable color performance and humidity resistance, ideal for Manila conditions. The core structure adopted a reinforced steel frame with anti-rust metal connection systems, improving stability and reducing corrosion risks. The design team built high-contact areas with replaceable modules to speed up repairs and minimize downtime.

After opening, the team designed the park to operate comfortably at a peak capacity of 180–220 on-site guests while maintaining clear sight lines and smooth circulation.

Under typical weekday conditions, the venue can welcome 250–400 visitors per day, and during rainy-season weekends and holidays, daily footfall can reach 600–900 visitors thanks to the “all-weather” positioning.

The completed Miland Castle Indoor Playground became a distinctive, climate-resilient destination for Manila families—uniting immersive visuals, safe high-value play, and practical maintenance.
